Training for an event like Tour of the Valley can be challenging. Three different days, with three different styles of races. Samantha Brode has been a competitive cyclist, traveling all across the country competing in cycling events since 2004. But, she doesn’t just pick up her bike and ride. She goes through a strict training regiment day in and day out. “It’s pretty grueling, actually,” says Brode. “Basically we train all year long. Maybe take a month break. You have to be able to suffer on the bike. That’s probably the hardest thing. Figure out what your threshold is, your maximum levels that you can maintain in your legs at any given time.” -Kristi Branam of My Valley Sports
